Local Coalition of Reason: Should the Skeptics Join?

Atheists, Humanists and Agnostics at the UW-Madison (the Secular Student Alliance affiliate), the Humanist Union of Madison, and Atheists and Agnostics of Wisconsin have agreed to start a local Coalitions of Reason for the greater Madison area. February Science Pub

The February Science Pub will feature Dr. Anders Carlson, whose research revolves around reconstructing the history of ice sheets and their past effects on climate and sea-level. He has predominately focused on the Laurentide Ice Sheet, which covered all of Canada and extended to south of Madison, WI, and the Greenland Ice Sheet, whose history is of great interest given concern over its future response to global warming.

HumanLight party

Madison Skeptics are invited to the annual HumanLight party this Thursday at the Prairie UU Society Meeting House in southwest Madison, 2010 Whenona Drive. We will gather and socialize starting at 5:30 pm and have a potluck supper starting at 6 pm. John Rummel will host our program which starts at 7 pm. If it is a clear night he will set up his telescope just outside the Meeting House. Regardless of weather, the program will include John showing slides of his Apostle Islands trip, made for the purpose of photographing the night sky behind lighthouses.
