Science Pub - December 20th

Remember the December Science Pub will take place on the 20th, our adjusted holiday schedule, at 2 PM -- Brocach Irish Pub, 7 W Main Street, in downtown Madison on the square.

The December Science Pub will feature Dr. Sharon Dunwoody, UW Professor of Journalism and Ron Seely of the Wisconsin State Journal for a discussion of science journalism. Mr. Seely and Dr. Dunwoody will discuss the accuracy of science reporting in the media. Other topics will include the importance of science coverage, especially in the struggling daily press, where traditional approaches to journalism sometimes fail to accurately convey science -- such as the perceived need to balance a discussion on evolution with an equal amount of information on creationism or information on climate change with comment from those who do not accept the scientific consensus.
