Michael Shermer DLS Lecture (March 1)
Acclaimed skeptic, interdisciplinary scholar, and prolific author Dr. Michael Shermer will be presenting a lecture on the UW-Madison campus on Monday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. He is in town as part of the UW’s Distinguished Lecture Series, and will be speaking in the UW Memorial Union Theater.
Dr. Shermer is the founding publisher of Skeptic magazine, the executive director of the Skeptics Society, a monthly columnist for Scientific American, the host of the Skeptics Distinguished Science Lecture Series at Caltech, and adjunct professor of economics at Claremont Graduate University in California.
"Why People Believe Weird Things" – of which he has written a book by the same title – will be the topic of his talk. During the evening, he will explore “pseudoscience, superstitions, and other confusions of our time.”
Tickets for Dr. Shermer are now available to the UW student body AND general public at the Union Theater box office, located at 800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI.

Noon – 5:00 Saturday
Non-ticket holders will be admitted (seat permitting) at 7:20 the evening of the lecture.
